Very bad things happen when you reverse polarity while hooking up your car battery. You can destroy your ecu ( brain ) ignition control unit and just about anything else. If you did do this and heard a big pop sound and possibly smelled electrical smoke ( burning insulation on wires ) you understand what I am saying.
The red wire and terminal on a 2008 Honda Civic are the positive wires for the battery. The black wires and terminal is the negative battery cable.
The way I hooked up the strobe lights in my truck, i did the following: [need a switch that has (+)(load)(-). Three prongs..] -run a wire from positive(+) of the battery to the positive(+) of the switch. -run a negative(-) from the battery to the negative(-) of the switch. -run the positive of the strobe to the (load) of the switch. -either run a negative(-) wire from the strobe to the switch, or mount it to the vehicle body somewhere.. Hope this helps.. Good luck
the positive side has the fuse
Positive wire touched negative wire on parking lights for 89 civic rt
disconnect the negative battery terminal for about 2 minutes!! Then that should reset it.... Why do u need it reset??
No. It could be a parasitic draw. To test for one, you can disconnect the positive lead of the battery, make sure all doors are closed and keys are out of the ignition, then hook the positive lead of an ammeter to the positive terminal of the battery, and the negative lead of the ammeter to the disconnected positive lead. Leave this hooked up for about an hour, and you should see less than 50 mA of current flowing. You have to leave it to give the computer time to shut off, it is normal for it to turn on when first connecting the battery. If you have above 50 mA, then you have something that is left on, From here you can test individual circuits in the same way through the fuse box. If it is below 50mA, you most likely have a problem with your battery or alternator.
Disconnect the cable from the Civic battery. Trace the wire to the other end, paying careful attention to the routing. Disconnect the cable at the far end, and pull the cable out. Put the new cable in following the same path. reconnect the cable ends.
The battery is a 12 volt.
The Honda Civic Hybrid will run fine on a dead battery, but acceleration will be sluggish.
Yes as long as it fits in the battery holder.

Use your Positive wire from your battery to find you starter just follow the wire to the starter.
