the truck wont run with out it.. some times it will let you know its going bad by not starting up on the 1st turn of the key.. if you turn the key on you should be able to hear the pump run in the tank for 3 seconds. (the tank is usally on the drivers side rear.) if you have a pres. gauge you can check it off the fuel rail under the hood (looks like a air valvue for a tire) it should read between 30-45 pounds on there any thing less then 30 and you will have a problem.
