If your laminate didn't shine out of the box, nothing will really shine it. A clean floor shines more then a dirty one. Use a good laminate cleaner, like Pergo's.

You shouldn't use any wet products on laminate floors.

No, laminates cannot have wax or any other topical treatment for a shine. It can be very difficult to remove once applied.

If the laminate didn't shine out of the box there is no viable option to shine it. Products like Murphy's oil soap only create a mess. The way these floors are constructed they are not easily repaired or modified like hardwood.

No! It is not so difficult. Laminate flooring is a beautiful, low maintenance, long-lasting flooring. There are several simple steps that you can take to keep your laminate flooring clean and to ensure that you get many years of service from it. Simply dust mop or vacuum with a soft brush or wood floor accessory to keep your laminate floor clean from dust, dirt or grit. A damp cloth or mop can be used without damage to the laminate flooring panels, but do not use excessive water. Dry the floor thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth. Blot up spills or water from wet feet or footwear immediately with a clean, dry cloth, sponge, or paper towel. Do not allow excess liquid to remain on the surface of your laminate floor. Do not use soap-based detergents, abrasive cleaners, or combined “clean and shine” products on your laminate floor. Do not use steel wool or other scouring pads that may scratch laminate panels. Do not wax or polish your laminate flooring. Do not steam clean or use chemicals that may damage the laminate flooring surface. For stubborn spots or stains on laminate flooring use acetone or nail polish remover on stubborn substances such as tar, asphalt, paint, or oil. Then wipe clean with a damp cloth. You can but it isn't going to do much, laminate is designed to have a low luster/Shine and the mop & glow will likely look more streaky than shiny.. you are trying to shine a floor that isn't supposed to shine... It will leave a heavy residue and make the floor look extremely dirty.

Generally, you can't. Laminate is not like hardwood. It is only a picture of wood with a plastic surface. If it didn't shine when you bought it, there is little you can safely do to make it shine later. Never use any kind of wax or hardwood floor shine on a laminate. This will simply leave you with a mess!

No, the oil will only sit on the top and cause a dirty grime to appear in a very short time. Then you will not be able to clean it off, because most products that will take off oils are not safe for laminate....and most of all, it would be very slick.

Your laminate flooring makes a beautiful addition to your home and you need to maintain it in order to protect your investment. Clean your laminate flooring by using a dry mop, broom or vacuum cleaner to remove all the heavy dirt, dust and hair. Then use a steam mop or slightly damp cloth to clean and sanitize your floor and make it shine. Avoid using a traditional mop because this will leave too much water and cause your floor to swell and buckle. Avoid using any chemicals on your floor as this will destroy the floor's protective finish.

The floors themselves install in a very similar fashion. If you want a floor with a lot of shine, you will want to go with hardwood. If cost is an issue, laminate.

go to your local flooring store or hardware store...and ask for a vinyl flooring 'stripper' it will clean your floor very well..then you have to re-wax it to get the shine back..(personal advice...my husband installs flooring for a living..I do it on my hands and knees..not with a mop..follow the directions on the stripper, then be positive to use a very good wax to reshine the floor)

Though there are finish coating you can buy in shops and manufacturers, you can also try using hot water and lemon. Mixing the two with addition of olive oil can provide the shine you want for your floor.

The best treatment for any wood flooring is to use a sealant. A sealant helps keep the floor scratch free, it gives it a shine, and only has to be reapplied every few years and that will only take about 45 minutes of your time. Any sealant is good since it coats the wood and keeps it safe.
