There are lots of possibilities:
Check the fuse and make sure it is good.
You may have a burnt out the motor.
You may have simply 'stripped' the wiper motor connection. There is a bolt on that connects the wiper to the motor. Tightening it may be enough to get it taken care of.

Windshield wipers don't work
The most common cause that windshield wipers stop working is a blown fuse. The windshield wiper motor may need to be changed is also common.

A cars windshield wipers should work either way. They should word with or without wiper fluid.
Normally its a fuse. Check your owner's manual to find where the fuses are and which one is related to the wipers.

Blown fuse would be my first guess.
the windshield wiper motor could be getting Hot! Mine does the same thing, then when it cools off they work again.
