If you do not believe the marriage will benefit both of you then you need to do what you can to avoid problems later BUT base this decision on what you know of your intended and what you know of yourself. Your parents did the Istekhara...you should undertake the process for yourself, so that you feel more confident in the result. All marriages take patience and open communication to maintain health, finance and emotional health--no matter the culture.
