The first thing you can do is work on your GED. It does not take that long. Once you have that, you can then start at a community college. There is financial aid available. If you are in financial need, single mothers can usually have their education paid for.

Does your parent have to be there to enroll you in school?

Yes your parent does even for college! It depends on the state laws governing schools. In most situations parents only need to enroll the student at the K-7 grade levels. The exception for high school is if the student is transferring from another district. Middle school transcripts are sent to the high school the student will attend, some Freshman may need a parent if there is a problem with the student's records. I have never known anyone needing a parent to enroll them in college, as most students have reached the age of majority (18) when they enter. Obviously that would not apply if the child is a "whiz kid" entering college at the age of 14 which does happen, although it is quite extraordinary.

What is the cost of having a college graduate emancipated in New Jersey?

The term "emancipation" usually refers to someone under the age of 18 wanting to legally be in control of their own life. Maybe they want to move out of their parent's house, or maybe their parents have died and they don't want to move in with a foster family. A college graduate would be over the age of 18. A younger college student might want to get emancipated so that he/she can pay in-state tuition where the college is instead of paying out-of-state tuition where the parent's live.
