What if your driver side window switch will roll the window down but will not roll it back up on a 2003 Chevrolet cavalier?

sometimes a failing lift motor will go down but not back up. Otherwise, it could be an open circuit in the wiring. Remove the door panel and use a voltmeter to check whether current is getting to the motor from both switch directions.

Both window switch on the front door will lower the window, the problem is that both switch will not raise the window back up to its close position and also the master window switch on the Driver's side will not operate all the time nor will the master door lock on the driver's side lock the passenger side door. On several ocasion the driver's side window switch lowered it's window and it would'nt raise the window back up unless after quite a few minutes playing with the window switch, opening the door, etc.

You may want to check the fuses-located on the driver's side in dash. Or, you may choose to replace the window console buttons. I have a 97 power windows and ended up changing both the driver and passenger pwr window buttons. Not sure of the technical terminology. Hope this helps. BTW you can purchase the parts at your local parts store or chevy!
