The message '4th gear ratio incorrect' can indicate that there is a problem with the solenoid for the torque converter. This is code 54 on a Mitsubishi Galant.
The final drive gear ratio for the Valkyrie is 2.833 from what I have found in 5 different sites..(though I don't have those site available at the moment) I also found that the goldwing has a 2.75? final gear ratio, and different 4th and 5th gear ratios..wonder if they'll interchange??
All I know is I got mine up to 70 mph in 4th gear and only at 4000 rpm.
The gear between 2nd and 4th. On a 3 or 4 speed it would be direct drive. A 1:1 ratio
To get higher speeds, thesecond gear has a lower gear ratio as the first one, so youre speed raises with the same rpm. The same for the 3rd/4th/5th/6th gear.
When you are driving there are gears that you can switch to.Hope this helps. :)Prior to replacement I consider the possibility of changing the gear ratios: could you use a higher gear?If the 4th gear ratio is too low ( high number ) then it will limit the speed the scooter can achieve. If you need a lower gear ratio the hub allows you to fit a larger rear sprocket, and vise versa. These also work. :)
I'm just guessing but if it has always done that then it probably means drive 4th gear which would mean that the car will automatically shift gears up to 4th gear which would be normal, but if it hasn't always done this than there is a problem
Many Allison electronic transmissions can be programmed to down shift to 4th gear or lower when the engine or exhaust brake is activated. This increases the braking effect with the lower gear ratio's. allisontech@aol.com

Banshee gear ratios are as follows: primary 2.869 1st 2.461 2nd 1.812 3rd 1.500 4th 1.250 5th 1.045 6th .875 final 13/ 42 sprocket....depending on year
The transmission will only shift from 1st gear into second gear. It will not shift into 3rd, 4th or overdrive. Generally, temporarily used for pulling a heavy load like pulling a boat out of the water.
