There are no symbols for Allah (the Almighty God) .There is a misconception that the crescent moon and a star are the symbols of God Almighty.

We Muslims tend to use the crescent moon because we follow the lunar calendar. The sighting of the crescent moon is the beginning of a new month in the Islamic calendar. I'm not sure about the stars. They are all creations of Allah (the almighty God) and not the symbol of God itself.an cos day are sick fam.

Per Islam religion, there is no symbol for Allah, the Creator. Even Islam religion has no symbol. The moon, the crescent, and the star are just historical symbols used by the Turks in their flags during their wars against the West.

Islam does not have symbols, signs, ikons or any holy physical things - at all. Islam is the pure worship of the One Unseen God ALONE.

No person, no object, nothing has any holiness - except the One God.

Even the black stone in the corner of the House of Abraham in Mecca has no inherent holiness. It is just a stone from the original house built by Abraham.

Islam (the belief in and obedience to the One and Only God) - the religion of Abraham, Moses, Jesus and all other prophets - is pure monotheism.

Only the One God is Holy.

Which way should the star and crescent face when it's used to represent Islam?

They should not be displayed. They are not valid symbols of Islam - only a man-made thing that arose later on. I personally believe it is a Masonic symbol - like the all seeing eye. I despise the star and crescent. The only true symbol of Islam is the statement: Laa Ilaaha Illa Allah, Muhammad Rasool Allah. "There is no god but the One God (Allah) and Muhammad is the Messenger of God".

What does the symbol Allah in Arabic mean?

Allah is probably from the roots 'Al' which means 'the' and 'Ilaah' which means god. It means "The God". It is also His name. Most people think that "Allah" is different than the God of the Bible, but that is not true. In the Old Testament, in Hebrew, the word used for God is 'Elohim'. The root of Elohim is 'Eloha'. Allah. Eloha. Also: if Jesus spoke Aramaic, then the name he used for God is 'Alaha'. Christian Arabs also say 'Allah'.
