Cattle is one of the most important livestock and coffee is their chief export. Madagascar is the world's greatest producer of vanilla, which is made from the sugar and cloves. Madagascar's forests cover most of the island where unique plants such as orchid species. Madagascar is also known for its spicy chilies and garlic, much like the herbs grown in Indonesia. Other natural edibles are their fruits; Oranges, lemons, papayas and bananas.
