Mars has a very thin atmosphere that is made mostly of carbon dioxide.

  • 95.72% CO2
  • 2.7% nitrogen
  • 1.6% argon
  • 0.2% oxygen
  • 0.07% carbon monoxide
  • 0.03% water vapour
  • 0.01% nitric oxide
  • and trace amounts of neon, krypton, formaldehyde, xenon, ozone, and methane.

Its atmospheric pressure is 7-9 millibars, depending on the season. This is only about 1/100th as dense as Earth's at sea level (1013.25 millibars).

The average temperature is about -80 degrees C.

During winter some of the atmosphere freezes into dry ice at the poles.

They are very different in percent composition and in pressure, however, the gases are similar, if in different quantities. Earth's atmosphere is about 78% nitrogen, almost 21% oxygen, about 1% argon, with trace amounts of carbon dioxide, water vapor, and other gases. Mars's is 95% carbon dioxide, 3% nitrogen, and has traces of argon, oxygen, water vapor, and other gases.

The atmospheres, however, have similar weather phenomenon. Both Earth and Mars have clounds and frost. Snow (which doesn't reach the ground) even has been observed on Mars. Earth, Mars, and Venus also have cyclones, though in the last two these occur only near the poles. Mars is particularly famous for its planet wide dust storms, which dwarf Earhtly dust storms. Both Earth and Mars have dust devils, and wind is a major contributor to erosion and the formation of sand dunes.

What are similarities between mars and Saturn?

Very few similarities exist between Mars and Saturn. Mars is a smallish terrestrial (or rocky) planet, while Saturn is a large gas giant planet. Mars has two small satellites, while Saturn has dozens of large satellites, and millions of small ones that form the "rings" of Saturn.

The principal gas in the Venusian atmosphere is carbon dioxide. This is also a minor component of the atmospheres of Earth and Mars.
