Morphosephram (a.k.a MTHOS),also known as the Handbook of Shadow, was written by Occult author William Robert Wraithe. The title "MTHOS" stands for 'Morphosephram: The Handbook of Shadow' and is the only (true) source on how to become a were-creature, vampire, and shapeshifter from a mystical point of view. Wraithe wrote this book in 2003 and it was published by Octavia & Co. Press out of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. However, the publisher mysteriously shut down after only offering it for two months. The book was then banned from being published by any other publisher worldwide for being "too dangerous" for people to read. Later in 2008, it was published on the popular on-demand publishing site known as Lulu.com.

Furthermore, it has also been documented that this book is cursed, and a seemingly "spooky" trail of accidents and mishaps were shared from people who experienced the "curse". The curse, "being that if you illegally download it or share it", will activate the seal on the book and relinquish guardian entities that the author attached to the seal to prevent it from being misused or stolen. Normally, such grand accusations would be considered humorous at best, but due to a consistent, steady flow of reports around the web it seems to be 'more' accurate to state that it is "indeed" cursed.

Also, many who bought the book have claimed that the book itself changes for those who own it. More than a few people have "listed" that the book will change to suit the person who owns it - much like a ouija board will attach itself to the current owner. In addition, owners of the book state that usually within two weeks of purchasing it (and reading the pages) unusual things occur to them and their residence. On more than one occasion it was noted that things would appear or could be seen from the corner of their eye. The "things" they refer to are described as shadow beings or other curiosities like ghosts and other supernatural beings.

Final note - the author claims to have found all information in this book while accessing the Akashic Records on the Astral. All information - as stated in the foreword - was pulled directly from this infinite library of the "Universal Consciousness" - which is basically a collection of intelligence from all ages of life that ever existed. Furthermore, if this is true and he did write the book from information accessed by the Akashic Records (library), that means that the knowledge was already out there somewhere but was either lost or hidden at some point in time. Other than that, the author was a high contender in the OTR at one time before being banished for accessing records and other information that was not allowed.
