If you mean the emperor Nero, he is known as the last emperor of the Julio-Claudian dynasty. In popular myth he is supposed to have started the Great fire of Rome (false) and blamed the Christians for it (true). He had his mother murdered for good reason and also confiscated a lot of property from leading families. The upper class hated him and formulated a revolt. However, he was also interested in science, architecture, the arts, and various technological innovations. He was highly esteemed by the common people of Rome.
