All it means is that the main web that holds the crankshaft in have four bolts instead of two per main. A four bolt main was used in high performance and heavy duty applications. Personally, I've been into many, many engines and I've never seen a main break at the bolts. Gas or diesel. I have seen cranks snap like twigs.
