In VG condition the variables still are 1)rifle or carbine, 2)barrel length, 3)factory original or various modifications (drilled for scope, cut stock for recoil pad, aftermarket sling rings, engraved initials, etc. If we assume a carbine (20"), in factory orig condition w/o any special order features, and, as you state (VG) with none of the above alterations and a VG bore...$450--650. Rarities obviously have greater value. This range in value is related to whether you "sell to dealer", or to "end-user". 17/02/2006
Made from 1933-1974. Value range 350 - 700. Check the auction sites.

Your Winchester Model 54 was manufactured between 1929 and 1930. It's value, in good condition as described, would be around $1000.
Unlike Winchester model 70 rifles, the model 94's do not command a significant premium by being manufactured prior to 1964. Unless they are made well prior. Current (February 2010) market prices indictate that in the condition you described and with all original parts, your rifle should have a retail value of about $300-$375. Note this will vary by region.
