Anyone can inherit hemophilia. In most cases, it is a man whose mother is a carrier of the disease. It is extremely rare for a woman to have hemophilia but it is not uncommon for one to be a carrier. Yes females can have hemophilia. Although very rare it has been recorded. A female can get hemophilia if her mother is a carrier and her father has it. Like I said, It doesn't happen often but is possible.
Hemophilia is a X linked recessive disorder. Usually the mother is an unaffected carrier and her son unfortunately receives the X chromosome in which hemophilia is linked to.
