A:

Judaism is undoubtedly the ancestor of both Christianity and Islam, although many Muslims consider the Islamic religion to be older than Judaism.

Judaism, in turn, evolved from the polytheistic religion of the early Hebrews, as evidenced by many religious artefacts found by archaeologists throughout ancients Israel and Judah. Zoroastrianism is not an ancestor of Judaism, but it does seem to have influenced Judaism, as well as directly influencing both Christian and Islamic beliefs.

Judaism traces its roots back to the polytheistic beliefs that the early Israelites inherited from their Canaanite forebears. Mark S. Smith (The Early History of God) says that according to the available evidence, Israelite religion in its earliest form did not contrast markedly with the religions of its Levantine neighbours in either number or configuration of deities. He says that in the Judges period, Israelite divinities may have included Yahweh, El, Baal and perhaps Asherah as well as the sun, moon and stars. He adds the goddess Astarte for the monarchical period.

Christianity traces its roots back to Second-Temple Judaism, which could be thought of as a development midway between Israelite polytheism and modern rabbinical Judaism.

Islam traces its roots back to both Judaism and Christianity. Karen Armstrong (Islam) says Muhammad was shocked at first, to learn that Jews and Christians, whom he assumed to belong to a single faith, had serious theological differences.

All these three religions believe in the oneness of Almighty Allah. Most of their beliefs are the same. They find their roots in Harat Abram AS. and his descendents.
