Seafoam products are pretty good.
Fuel injector cleaner does not hurt anything, but most fuels already have a cleaning additive in their fuel.
Fuel system cleaner usually does a pretty good job, "heet" is a pretty good job, fuel injector cleaner cleans the injectors/carborator/gas tank/ and yeah... pretty much everything, the only thing you have to do after using a fuel additive, is to buy a new fuel filter, you would have to do that because the chemicals from the additive clean the sediment and other gunk from the bottom of the gastank, and all that crap goes throguh the fuel filter, plugging it up. A 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo Station Wagon's fuel filter is only about $15.00 at napa, and "heet" is only like $4.00 There are specific products for fuel tank cleaning. The items mentioned above are only temporary fixes and are not reliable tank cleaning methods.
Don't waste your money. Fuel additives do not work. There are 2 good fuel system cleaners i can recommend. Techron, and Seafoam. Both are great products and should be used once a year to keep your fuel system clean. Forget the fuel additives.
replace air filter, spark plugs and wire set (good luck with the hard to reach one at the fire wall and through the manifold), fuel filter (underneath passenger side door), and lucas oil fuel additive to clean your injectors. you should be good, if your good with spark plugs, you'll have it all done in an hour...
Most likely a clogged fuel filter. If the vehicle has been out of use for a long time, it may also be due to contaminated fuel. Adding a fuel system cleaner or fuel additive such as heet, in addition to a quantity of good fuel should alleviate the problem if this is the case.
Seafoam products are good. Remove as much of the old gas as possible then add a few gallons of fresh gas and seafoam fuel additive.
not a good idea.
none, use a good fuel additive and change filters regulary you will have no problems.
Sea foam works good. Spray or liquid.
My opinion is that Cerma Stm 3 is the best fuel additive. I use it on my pickup and I went from 17 to 20 mpg's. After you add it to the fuel you'll need to change your fuel filter because it does a really good job cleaning the gunk out. The website explains it in better detail than I can. Plenty of cars can take fuel additives that clean out a good portion of your car and allow for better combustion.
It depends on what year, make and model but for the most part the vehicles built since the 1990's are a sealed/closed system. Water can get in via contaminated fuel from gas station and also a small amount can accumulate from condensation. Regular use of a quality dry gas additive is always a good idea.
