P90X provides an intense workout via DVDs that you workout along with. If you don't want to invest in a program such as that, you can try doing sprints, push-ups, and calisthenics to build muscle.
The Navy Seal Workout is actually pretty intense. It includes a lot of exercises to build core strength as well as cardio. Plan on breaking a sweat!
Unfortunately I was unable to find any reviews that appeared to be from a reliable expert source. WebMD does have a review of the "Insanity" workout plan from the Beachbody company, which points out that the workout is exactly as the name implies. Intense! Beginners, people that are out of shape, or special needs should look for a less intense workout program.

P90X is a great cardio workout. It allows you to work at your own pace and stop if you need to. Then when your heart is healthy, you can pick up the pace for an intense workout.
It is normally recommended that you speak to your doctor before starting any workout plan. You usually want to start out with something low-impact if you are not used to working out.
The P90X Workout is a 90 day plan that can be purchased on the internet. It is relatively expensive and complex and requires a serious commitment to exercise. Another is a plan by Good Housekeeping.
A good workout plan for an 18 year old weighing 220 pounds and is 5' 7" involves a good diet and regular exercises such as aerobics and jogging.
A good place to start if you are a beginner looking for a good workout routine is here: http://www.gymjunkies.com/beginners-workout-plan/ This is written by a trainer who has provided a simple plan for both men and women for four weeks. It has extra information too which you may find useful such as what to do after your four weeks of working out plus meal plans to accompany your workout.
My favorite new one is an A/B type workout. On even days, you have a fast-paced walk/run routine coupled with an intense core and upper body workout. On odd days, you have a slower-paced walk/jog routine coupled with a more intense lower body/leg routine!
Yes I would purchase the 300 workout plan it seems to be a good plan. Here is a site on it www.menshealth.com/fitness/muscle-building-11 , and this site joshsgarage.typepad.com/articles/2007/03/the_300_workout.html
