Pick a song that will show off your voice.
It depends on what type of voice you have but;
Bound to you: Christina Aguilera
Missing you: First Lady
Jar of hearts: Christina Perri
A thousand miles: Vanessa Carlton
Drop in the ocean: Ron Pope
Crawl: Chris Brown
The one that got away: Katy Perry
Man in the mirror: Michael Jackson
Bleeding love: Leona Lewis
Is it always best to sing a song you are familiar with and enjoy listening to. A common song, well-known and liked by your friends. Remember to be calm and don't be nervous. Even if you are nervous, try to keep it undercover. Sing confidently and loudly. (They don't want somebody they can't hear!) Look like you think you are great and if you make a mistake, don't pull a face, just carry on as if you hadn't made a mistake.
It depends on your vocal range. If you pick a song with extremely high notes, than obviously that's not the song you should be singing. And vice versa. Unless you change the key, which is not a bad idea. It shows originality.
A lot of people seem to recomment theatre songs, but that's not what I would go for. I would shoot for more of a power-house song that shows impressive strength in vocals, such as a Paramore song (if you are able).
Good luck!
Somewhere over the rainbow shows off good vocal skills if you can pull it off. Modern, 'in' songs aren't that good as a lot of people would have sung them recently, raising the bar very high. Purple rain is an amazing song, but not many people find it easy. I hope that your audition goes well, just remember to smile during your peice and be confident, but not arrogant!
It depends on the show. If it is something classic, such as Music Man, you would want to sing a more unique song, like Not for the Life of Me from Thoroughly Modern Millie. If it is something more unique, like CATS, you might want to be singing a common song, such as Popular from Wicked. It also depends on how old you are. You wouldn't want to be singing It's a Hard Knock Life (Annie) for a show like Titanic. If you are about 6-10 you would want to be singing songs like Tomorrow, Be Kind to Your Parents, or Gary, Indiana. If you are anywhere from 10-14 you would want to sing songs like Part of Your World, Not for the Life of Me, or My New Philosophy. If you are 14-20 you would want to sing songs like Gimme Gimme, Popular, or I Think I'm Gonna Like it Here. If you are 20+ you could sing songs like Seventy-Six Trombones, Goodnight My Someone, Ya Got Trouble, Poor Unfortunate Souls, Little Girls, Something was Missing, or Jimmy. Ok well it depends on your voice scale range. If your high notes, sing a song from Justin Beiber. If your low notes, sing The Underdogs. If your in the middle,( me and most people ), sing a chromatic Birthday Song.

some places ask you for the sheet music so stick to the classics but if they don't need it....
It usually depends on the audition but in general it should be a song you're familiar with. A song that showcases your vocal range and ability, that you're comfortable with. DO NOT, under any circumstances unless required, PICK CURRENT SONGS TO USE FOR AUDITIONING.
teenagers by my chemical romance
i think you should sing baby gaga goes wewe
Butterflies by Alana Leeorpizza pie.
This is how I feel
My Strongest Suit is a great song for an audition. This song is full of energy and drama!
In my own opinion, it is not a good song to use for a Kpop audition. Try to sing a song from Beyonce or Mariah Carey.

When you audition for a musical, the directors generally have a set idea about how they want a song to sound, so they are less likely to choose you by singing a song from the musical that you are auditioning for. Defying gravity would be a better choice for you to sing than Tomorrow.
