In the state of Michigan there is only one vet school - Michigan State University. It is accredited, so it is a good college to learn veterinary medicine at.
Your classes in Middle School will have little affect on your ability to become a vet. Get good grades in Middle School and High School so that you can get into a good college. Then take a pre-med or pre-vet major and hope you can get into Vet school, which is very hard to do, even harder then medical school.
There is one veterinary school in Michigan, it is at Michigan State University in East Lansing. Most states only have one vet school, if any. You can get veterinary technician training at many community colleges in Michigan, including the East Lansing Community College.

Western Michigan is considered by some to be a good school. this of course depends on your major. Business majors and engineering majors would most likely be happy at western Michigan.
My first choice in Michigan for an information systems school would be the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Michigan State in Lansing is a good information systems school in Michigan also.

Any school of veterinary medicine will give you the basics towards becoming an equine veterinarian; if the school doesn't have a strong equine program there you can supplement your time in vet school with externships and experiences at other schools or at private equine facilities. Once you get out of vet school, the important thing is to work with a good established equine veterinarian to hone your technical skills.
Most agricultural universities have a veterinary college. Michigan State University, for instance, started out it's life as Michigan Agricultural College and has one of the nation's best Vet Programs.
