There are a number of exercises that can be good for seniors. As far as stretching exercises, one that comes to mind is one that can strengthen the quads (muscles above your knees). Simply sit on a chair, feet firmly on the ground. Then slowly extend one leg out, until it's parallel with the ground. Try and point your toe, as that will increase the effectiveness of the exercise. Slowly reverse the motion until your foot is back on the ground, and do the same with the other leg. Repeat a few times with each leg, or until you're unable to continue. This can help build up this large group of muscles to potentially avert any kind of disaster, like a nasty fall. Some exercises include walking, even if it is around your home. Leg and arm stretches, getting out of a chair, walking around. Some phyical therapists can even come to your home for additional help.
