For example if you have no S/T cards, then an opponent could assume a direct attack would be successful, or perhaps they were sure their stronger attacker could destroy your defender. But in this case cards like Battle Fader and Honest are 'hand traps'. The opponent was lured into taking an action, and was foiled by a card from hand.
