Sounds like Ordeal of a Traveler. The effect is applied when the opponent attacks (does not have to be against a defence mode monster, or even a monster at all). He must select a card from your hand and correctly guess if it is a monster, spell or trap, or his attacking monster is returned to hand.

Can partician of darkness make you attack another monster on your field?

Patrician of Darkness only allows you to choose the target monster of your opponent's attack. It does not make you attack another monster on your field. If you have multiple monsters on the field in addition to Patrician of Darkness, you can choose which of your monsters that your opponent must target when he or she attacks.

Can I have a list of cards that Lord of D. can't stop.?

Lord of D. cannot stop cards that DO NOT TARGET. As it would be unreasonable to list every card that can achieve this, the cards listed below would be some examples:Mirror ForceTRAP/NormalActivate only when an opponent's monster declares an attack. Destroy all Attack Position monsters your opponent controls.Torrential TributeTRAP/NormalActivate only when a monster is Summoned. Destroy all monsters on the field.FissureSPELL/NormalDestory 1 face-up monster your opponent controls that has the lowest ATK. (If it's a tie, you get to choose.)Smashing GroundSPELL/NormalDestroy the 1 face-up monster your opponent controls that has the highest DEF. (If it's a tie, you get to choose.)RaigekiSPELL/NormalDestroy all monsters on your opponent's side of the field.

Does your opponent have to attack a monster you summon with A Hero Emerges?

No, not at all. When the defending player summons a monster after an attack has been declared, a 'replay' occurs. The attacking monster has to choose whether to continue its attack or discontinue it altogether and forfeit its attack that turn. If it continues the attack, it can be against a different target. If the monster was making a direct attack, and a stronger monster was summoned, then the attacker will most likely discontinue his attack. He can't continue as a direct attack, but is not forced to attack the newly summoned monster either.

In Yugioh does a monster have to attack the newly Special Summoned monster during the Battle Phase if they already declared the attack?

Answer taken from the Official English Rulebook: After you've announced your attacking monster and the attack target monster during a Battle Step, the attack target might be removed from the field, or a new monster may be played onto the opponent's side of the field before the Damage Step, due to a card's effect. This causes a "Replay." When this occurs, you can choose to attack with the same monster again, or choose to attack with a different monster, or choose not to attack at all. Note that if you attack with a different monster, the first monster is still considered to have declared an attack, and it cannot attack again this turn.

If your opponent attacks your monster and you respond with a complusory evacuation device to return your own monster leaving you wide open is the attack negated or does it become a direct attack?

When the number of the monster on the "defenders" side of the field changes, a replay battle occurs. Then the "attacker" can choose to continue with the attack, change the attack's target, or cancel the attack altogether.

If your opponent declares a direct attack and you activate call of the haunted to bring back a monster is the direct attack negated since a monster appeared on your side of the field?

If a potential attack target appears or disappears after the attack is declared, but before the damage step, then a 'replay' occurs. A replay is the continuation or discontinuation of the attack - the attacker is allowed to continue the attack (against a new target if it wishes, or sometimes it might have to choose a new one) or it can forfeit its attack completely for that turn. So, the opponent declares a direct attack, and you respond with CotH. CotH will resolve and summon a monster, causing a replay. The attacking monster may continue its attack, however it is not possible to perform a direct attack now, so will have to attack the newly summoned monster. Or, it can cancel its attack for that turn.

Yu-gi-oh cards how is it possible to attack set summons when i keep hearing when a monster is set it is not yet considered a summoned monster?

The wording of this question is a bit difficult to understand, but I'll try to answer any and all aspects of it:First of all, when a monster card is Set, it is not considered being "Summoned". So if your opponent has a face-down Trap Hole that can destroy Normal or Flip Summoned monsters, they will not be able to activate it because you Set your monster. Normal Summons and Flip Summons are considered "Summonings".*Second, it is possible for you or your opponent to attack Set monsters. If you want to attack a Set monster, you must enter your Battle Phase and choose a face-up attack position monster you control to attack an opponent's set monster. Next, the opponent's monster is flipped face-up (while still in defense position) and you calculate any damage that results from battle.Set monsters cannot attack.* It is important to note that a face-down monster that is attacked and flipped face-up is not considered to have been Flip Summoned. Only when the card's controller flips a Set monster themselves on their Main Phase or with a card effect is it considered to have been Flip Summoned. On a side note, the turn a player Sets a monster, they cannot perform any additional Normal Summons or Sets for the remainder of the turn. The same rule applies to when you Normal Summon a monster first instead of Setting one.

How does the Trap 'Skull Lair' work?

What happens is you choose a monster on your opponent controls. Then you choose monsters in your graveyard to remove from play. But you have to remove monsters from play equal to the Level of your opponent's monster. Then your opponent's monster that you chose is destroyed. Eg. If you wanted to destroy Giant Rat, then you would have to remove 4 monsters in your graveyard from play because Giant Rat is Level 4.

What is the best nature for Anorith?

It depends on what you want your Anorith to be good at.If you want it good at attacking, then you should choose a nature that either raises Attack or Special Attack and which doesn't decrease the other.... so, these ones might work:Lonely (raises attack, lowers defense)Naughty (raises attack, lowers special defense)Brave (raises attack, lowers speed)Mild (raises special attack, lowers defense)Rash (raises special attack, lowers special defense)Quiet (raises special attack, lowers speed)If you want it good at defending, then you should choose a nature that either raises Defense or Special Defense and which doesn't decrease the other.... so, these ones might work:Bold (raises defense, lowers attack)Impish (raises defense, lowers special attack)Relaxed (raises defense, lowers speed)Calm (raises special defense, lowers attack)Careful (raises special defense, lowers special attack)Sassy (raises special defense, lowers speed)If you want it to be fast, choose something that raises speed:Timid (raises speed, lowers attack)Hasty (raises speed, lowers defense)Jolly (raises speed, lowers special attack)Naive (raises speed, lowers special defense)If you don't want it to have any positives or negatives at all, choose one of the natures that does nothing:BashfulDocileHardyQuirkySeriousAlso, just to be clear, in order to choose a nature at all, you have to be breeding, trading, or have access to a lot of claw fossils. (There isn't just a setting you can choose in the game.)

Is damage calculation applied normally when Shuttleroid is attacked in Yu-Gi-Oh?

Shuttleroid's effect causes what is known as a "replay." This happens whenever an attack is declared, but a potential attack target appears or disappears before the Damage Step. If you declare an attack and the attack target leaves the field, a replay is caused. If you declare an attack and the opponent uses Call of the Haunted, a replay is caused. When a replay happens, the attacking monster can either continue its attack (choosing a new attack target if they wish) or forfeit their attack for the turn (they could not let another monster attack instead, then attack with the monster that had the replay) and perhaps attack with another monster that hasn't attacked yet.In the case of Shuttleroid, it will be banished in response to the attack declaration, and a replay will occur. The attacking monster can choose to continue with the attack, choosing a new attack target, which may even be the player if Shuttleroid was his only monster. This attack is a totally regular one following all the usual rules. Or if the only monsters left are stronger ones, it can choose to forfeit its attack that turn.

In Yu-Gi-Oh if your opponent attacks and you activate a spell or trap that destroys your monster is that attack negated?

'Negated' isn't the right word, as 'negated' is a specific term that applies to something else.If the defending monster is destroyed or removed from the field before the Damage Step, then no, the attack is not negated. What happens is a 'replay' occurs. The attacking monster can pick another attack target, or if he really wants to, just choose to forfeit his attack altogether.Replays can occur in other ways, basically if a potential attack target appears or disappears after an attack is declared but before the damage step, then a replay occurs.
