if you are asking about the meaning of the word " myth", you can define it as a legend or a fable; something wrong & may accepted by others as true. as your question is in the category of Islam, I'll give you an example on the myths about It: terrorism.
Malcolm X announced his split from the Nation of Islam on March 8, 1964. He made this decision after a pilgrimage to Mecca, where he witnessed a more inclusive form of Islam and concluded that the racial beliefs of the Nation of Islam were misguided. Malcolm X's split marked a significant turning point in his life and philosophy.
First, Islam is a religion. A person who believes in Islam is called a Muslim (and a female Muslim is often called a Muslima). But no, the president is not a Muslim. This is an internet myth, and it is untrue. The president was not raised as a Muslim, never worshiped as a Muslim, and was not married in a mosque. This myth spread because his father had been born a Muslim-- but by the time Barack Obama was born, his dad had long since left Islam and had become an atheist. Reports that young Barack went to a religious Muslim school (a madrassa) are false, as are reports that he secretly practices Islam-- he does not. He has been a Christian for many years. But that said, he has always respected his Muslim relatives in Africa, several of whom he has kept in touch with. But he also has relatives who are Buddhist, Christian, and Jewish, and he has respect for them too.
Islam responds to the question of the origin, nature and purpose of human life through the 8 aspects of religion. the 8 aspects of Islam are: belief, myth (sacred stories), sacred texts, rituals, symbols, social structure, code of behavior (shariah), and personal experiences. ____________________________________________________________ I don't find the source of the specific 8 aspects of Islam unless the above mentioned 8 aspects are generally applied to all religions and/or faiths.
