The first PDP-6 was delivered and installed at Project Mac at M.I.T. prior to October 6, 1964. The system started operation on that date. Other systems were installed throughout 1965 and 1966. I have more details if needed. Jim Wengler May 2009
SPACEWAR! (the exclamation mark is part of the name) It ran on a 4K word DEC PDP-1 computer that cost about $120,000. The program was written by Steve Russell at MIT. Torpedos were unaffected by the sun's gravity because he ran out of memory and had to leave out those routines. I was able to witness the reincarnation of SPACEWAR! when I helped the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, CA restore 1 of their 3 PDP-1s to full operation.
Many computer historians consider the DEC PDP-1 to be the first minicomputer, but it was still quite large and was built entirely with discrete transistors. Most computer historians consider the DEC PDP-8 to be the first minicomputer as it was actually small enough to sit on a desk and later models were built with monolithic integrated circuits.

DEC released the PDP-1 in 1960.
PDP stands for Programmed Data Processor. Therefore, it means Programmed Data Processor-8. :p

The PDP-1 was made by Digital Equipment Corporation, DEC.
Yes, I would recommend PDP. They sound nice and loud. A good series for PDP is the m5 series.
A PDP file is a XSD(Xml schema definition) format file.
No, considering the fact that PDP and Tama are competing brands.
There are many companies and websites that offer various Pioneer PDP for sale. Some of these companies that offer Pioneer PDP are Sale Stores and eBay.
No, considering the fact that PDP and Tama are competing drum companies.
PDP makes its drums in Mexico.
