Maggots and its from the meat or you Not maggots, the meat was frozen before grilled & they were on the cheese on top of the burgers. May be onion maggots--but don't think so--as they are verrry teeny, like 2mm long and about about as thick as a pencil lead tip. No wings, very thin, with black heads. I grilled the burgers frozen, turned them over and when they looked done, put onion and cheese on some. Closed the lid to let the cheese melt & when I opened it, there were these lil white worms only on one burger, on the very top, on the cheese actually. When I tossed the cheese away, some remained on the burger but most (like 30) were on the cheese. Checked the cheese pkg--none. Checked the onion baggy (it was previously in the fridge)--none. Couldn't find any others anywhere else, on cooked or raw foods or pkging...but threw the whole bit away anyway.

How long will cheese tortellini keep in the refridgerator?

I had some three cheese tortellini that was in a plastic container that was dried kind. I don't know how long it will last, but I just cooked some that I had in the refrigerator since Dec or so (to see if it'd cook ok), and the pasta part cooked fine, but the cheese was rock solid. So anything more than 6 months definitely won't do. (Sorry it's not a definitive answer, but it's something I could have used an answer to, so I thought I'd put in my two cents.)

Can cats really eat burgers?

It is not ideal to let a cat eat a burger - especially one that have been previously made and cooked from a fast food place. While cats are carnivores and eat meat, any onion found within the burger and in the sauce could harm it - onions are toxic to cats. Processed cheese is not ideal due to the preservatives and other chemicals that can be found which could also be detrimental to the cat's health. Any salad will usually be ignored by the cat.

I have a recipe with Coon Cheese as an ingredient and I can no longer find this cheese at the local grocery stores. Could any cheddar cheese be used as a substitute?

Probably not. I'll improve the above answer. Coon cheese is an old trademark. The same cheese is now sold under the Cracker Barrel name in the US as "New York Aged Cheddar". It's in a black wrapper in the dairy case.
