if there are no barrel markings......how do you know it's a colt ??
Not really
Impossible to answer. It HAS other markings on it somewhere.
American Gun CO. double barrel 271026
Interesting, the receiver was made after 1930 and the barrel 1922. Doubtful if the barrel is original.
what you have described is entirely possilbe. Take it to a gun show to find out.
value depends on overall condition................pictures help
Does not exist.
It's a Belgian gun, the ELG is a Belgian proofmark.
Not with just those markings. Provide a detailed description of all markings and maybe.
Used to keep the parts identified for assembley. For gun collectors, it means that all of the parts that were originally assembled on the gun are still on the gun. A mismatched serial number means that the part with the non-matching number has been replaced, and may not fit correctly. Guns with matching numbers are more valuable to collectors.
Serial numbers dont go that low on Offical Police revolvers. Need to know caliber, barrel length, barrel markings, etc.
Provide a detailed description of all markings on the bbl. It might be possible.
