An ice wand is essentially a sturdy, sealed/sealable plastic tube that is designed to be filled with water and frozen. Then when you have something like a large pot of soup that needs to be cooled down, the wand (which of course has been sanitized) is placed into the soup to provide chilling without watering down the soup. Variations of this kitchen tool are available on the internet.
The name 'ice wand' is trademarked, but for something having to do with ice machines. 'Ice paddle' might be a better term.
