The red wolf is an endangered species which gives them federal protection. Other things being done to help save this wolf is raising awareness of their problem. They are also being bred in captivity so that they can be reintroduced back into the wild.
In 1980 when the Red Wolf was on the verge of extinction the Wildlife Services collected every Red Wolf they could find, which sadly was only 14, and bread them in captivity until they were reintroduced to the wild in 1987. Unfortunately, people then tried to remove the Red Wolf from endangered species protections and some even took it as far as to illegally hunt Red Wolves. Yet these people hunt the wolves because they are believed to be a danger to humans, but there hasn't been a reported attack from a Red Wolf for 500 years. These services try to stop the illegal hunting of these precious creatures
Many people have not done much to save the wolfs. They are very dangerous to try to catch. Although humans have caught a wolf before and put them or it in zoos. They think they are saving them but really there putting them in cages to keep safe! How would you like to be in a cage? Anyways humans have put up signs, and social parties to help save them! YOU NEED TO SAVE THEM!
To help Gray Wolves we are trying to leave them be and not hunt them

Wolves hunt the weak and dying of their game, not the strongest. This is a fact.
Wolves are continually being reintroduced into the wild in the U.P. (Upper Portion) of Michigan.
Certain populations of this species are strictly protected, and have been reintroduced to many areas where they were extirpated. However, The IUCN lists the gray wolf as a species as least concern.
