Patches - Roxiecodone isn't even in the same league as Fentanyl when it comes to overall pain relief, as Roxiecodone is an acute pain med, not a chronic pain med.
Aside from strength, Fentanyl patches last 48-72 hours, and the dropoff point to withdrawal symptoms takes hours, not a short period like it does with acute meds like Roxiecodone. You also feel a lot more normal and can deal with activities better.
The downside is that once they're on, you need to keep them on for pain relief; there is much more flexibility with pills. But if you're in a constant state of chronic, severe pain, Fentanyl patches are the only way to go.

Oxycodone is a much shorter acting and intense opiate. You will feel a much more euphoric effect and "high" than from methadone, but you will need more of the medication (multiple doses in a day).

Methadone is a similar opiate derivative like Oxy, but not as strong (at least from my viewpoint).Neither drug is a Chronic Pain drug - both Oxycodone and Methadone are Acute Pain meds, and only last 6 hours. Chronic pain meds are OxyContin and Duragesic. OxyContin lasts 12 hours, Duragesic up to 72 hours. Those are used for primary, and the other 2 for breakthrough pain.For example, I use 1 100mcg Duragesic patch every 48 hours, and use Percocet 10/325's for breakthrough (about 150/120 per month).If you're only using acute meds and have chronic pain, then you need to start using a Pain Diary to track your pain so you can show your doctor that you need a chronic med. If your doctor isn't listening, time to find another one.TSD -RAVEN-Category Supervisor----I would talk to my doctor and let him no that you are having break through pain. Most pain clinic is prescribe another pain medication with methadone for break through pain. I would not stop taking methadone with out first talking to my doctor.

It is possible for methadone to show up after a three day period. Methadone can show up on a urinalysis up to 3 to 5 days depending on metabolism. Well for me I taken my last methadone 21 days prior and still tested positive for methadone so either I had a bad test or it can stay much longer. Now I am on Oxycodone for my Chronic back pain, maybe that had something to do with that. I know it is not supposed to as methadone takes a special test so just be careful. Good-Luck
