It is more or less dried blood. It comes from usually cows at slaughter houses and such, as the factory kills on which our animal protein is based. It is used for fertilizer in home gardens and such. Your blood flow is shunted to the celiac and mesenteric arteries in the gut to digest the meal. This shunting pulls blood away from the peripheral circulation in the skin to leave you feeling colder. You can combat the sharp blood sugar elevation after a meal by eating more protein and less carbs, but the sensation of coolness after a meal will likely persist. A smaller meal though would lead to a lesser effect.
