Your motorcycles gearbox is a complex, balanced piece of equipment, and works in tune with the motor. It sounds like your first gear might be off kilter or "stripped" or perhaps you need to seriously overhaul something. My advice is to be gentle while in first gear and then shift into second and see if you can feel something in the shift pedal/knob that might give you a clue as to whats wrong.
my car is not working in 1st gear
Between 1st and 2nd gear.
when talking about a motorcycle, the traditional location for neutral is between 1st and 2nd gear. you shift all the way down to 1st while lightly moving the motorcycle back and forth. you then lightly tap the gear lever up without entering 2nd gear. vualla, your in neutral.
My 94 Pontiac grand am se quad 4 the clutch is real loose and 1st gear is slipping
With the clutch lever pulled and the stand folded up, yes.
Its either the dogs or the shift forks
you need to change the fluid. my 99 grand am does that, it feels like you're shifting a manual from 1st to 2nd.
It's not shifting into neutral, the 3rd gear "drive" band is slipping. Time for rebuild.
most likely your transmission is slipping and usually is the onset of your transmission going
If it won't go into gear, it's probably the transmission. You can check the fluid level, but if that's up, the transmission is through. Probably clutch pack or valve body.
Sounds like the clutch is slipping and needs to be replaced - if cable was stretched clutch would not disengage and vehicle would creep in 1st gear and shifting would be difficult
you can let the clutch out to early 1st gear. your alternator might be bad. check all wiring and fuses including starter.
