Common problem with these 2000-04 fords, there is a sway bar link (approximately 12" long) which attaches the front strut to the sway bar mounted on the cars underside. The link ends wear and cause a "sloppy" connection between the two points. This is then herd while driving and hitting potholes as a "clunk".
Just replace the sway bar link and everything will be fine!
check shocks
When you turn the wheel, or while you drive?
CV joint
A car that is in good running condition should not make a clunking noise. If a person pushes the gas and brake pedal at the same time causing a car to make a clunking noise, that is an indication of stain on the motor.
Check for loose/worn steering components i.e. tie rod ends, ball joints
Worn out front shocks and struts will make a clunking noise when you go over small box. The strut may actually allows the tire to hit the fender well.
remove the plastic milk jugs and discard them. The clunking noise should stop.
Probably something is loose or worn... sorry to not be more specific, but you'll need to track it down to see WHAT is making that noise.
sounds like the right front motor mount .i replaced mine and the clunking sound went away
chiken
Maybe bad CV joints?
