A P1443 is related to the canister purge system. Most likely you have a faulty canister purge valve and flow sensor.
NEW: It happened to mine after i bought if from my neighbor. it was a cracked and busted hose connecting to the canister purge valve. its located on the front right hand side while facing the engine. it looks the canister looks like a black LEGO block or battery. the hose connecting to it with 2 valves connecting to the hose were 169 dollars at my local Ford dealership which i purchased as a kit to replace it all. it was cheaper than trying to replace the hoses alone. the system relies on vacuum pressure and when the pressure is lost due to a cracked or broken hose or 1 of the faulty valves then it sets off the P1443 code, it killed my fuel economy and performance. once i got the kit, no problems since. hope this helps. sure did me.
