"ECM" stands for "Error Correction Mode". Most modern fax machines do support this, but there are still millions of older machines in use that don't. Typically, if you send a fax from an ECM machine to another ECM machine, they will "negotiate" to use ECM. And conversely, if an ECM machine calls a non-ECM machine, they will negotiate to not use ECM (since all ECM machines can "fall back" to non-ECM mode).
In general, using ECM will produce a "cleaner" fax with fewer errors, even over a "noisy" phone line (that is why ECM was invented). Non-ECM machines do only minimal error checking, essentially just sending the encoded image and "hoping" it gets there intact. Strangely, this works most of the time, but also results in "glitches" on the received fax, as well as occasional failures caused by poor line quality. ECM can often compensate for those issues.
On a fax report, ECM stands for "Error Correction Mode."
Distinctive Ring
It has to be on or in sleep mode.
reference: ftp://ftp.faximum.com/pub/faqs/fax/fax-faq unfortunately CNG tones are only required if the fax machine is working in 'autmoatic mode'. If a person is manually faxing the standards do not require a CNG tone to be generated by the fax machine. This causes problems for some voice+fax services that rely on detecting the fax tone to switch their system to fax recipt mode.
Dedicated fax machine is the main fax machine that can be configured to where the fax will be receive and support extension fax machine.
It depends on the model. Usually, it means go into low power mode, but wake automatically if a fax arrives. This keeps the temperature of certain parts of the machine lower (the printing can use a lot of heat, even when on standby) to keep power usage down. The drawback to this is that when a fax arrives, it takes longer to print out compared with when the machine is in non-sleep mode.
a answer machine is to keep answers on there and its for when u dont answer the phone and a fax machine is for your fax
Yes, a paperless fax machine will receive the fax digitally instead of just immediately printing it out.

Using a fax machine is a really easy process once you have done it a few times. Once you go through the initial process of learning how to use your fax machine by reading the instructions and then following them, you will know how to use your fax machine whenever you need it. A fax machine is not a complicated machine, but there is an order that you must follow when using the fax machine.
