In the transmission dawg!
In between the radiator and the tire pressure gauge.
Its not really an alarm it just has to be started and have the doors opened by the same coded key or the engine will not start.
It doesn't have one. The pressure is regulated by the fuel rail pressure sensor sending a message to the pcm which limits the fuel pump speed to 70-100%. It is located on the fuel rail just behind and to the passenger side of the intake system. Two 5/16 bolts hold it to the rail. Remove the plug from the back and slide off the vacuum hose before removing. A good bit of fuel may be released.
Ford did a half year change on the fuel pumps on that Explorer meaning anything that was made up to 3-1-04 was one kind of pump (30-40 psi) and from 3-2-04 and after was a different style pump (60-65 psi). So, check the production date on the door jamb.
Hi, there is a lift pump in the tank, it is a fuel gauge sender & lift pump combined in 1 unit. I have changed 1 on a focus & mondeo tomorrow because no fuel being fired to the filters when ignition turned on.
