Generic Electronic Module
There isn't one, the indicators are controlled by the GEM (Generic Electronic Module).
Generic electronic module is basically a body control computer that can be found on Ford vehicles. It controls the function of heated rear windows, battery saver, one-touch down driver's side window and perimeter anti-theft.
Either your VSS (vehicle speed sensor) or your GEM Module (generic electronic module) is not working/broke.
On my 2001, it is located behind the driver's side kickpanel.
I believe that is in the center stack of the dash , behind and to the left of the radio

As far as I know the GEM ( Generic Electronic Module ) controls the 4x4 on the 1995 Ford Explorer and I believe that is in the center stack of the dash behind and to the left of the radio
I believe the GEM is located in the center stack of the dash , remove the radio to gain access if it needs to be changed
