How do you fix a broken valve cover bolt on a Chevy 1500 with a 5.3?

Remove the broken bolt and replace it with a new one. There are several ways to remove that broken bolt. You can remove the valve cover and weld a nut to what is left of the bolt, wait for it to cool off then unthread the broken bolt. You can also drill out the center of the broken bolt and use an easy-out. You can also drill into the broken bolt with a left handed drill bit, sometimes the drill bit will catch and spin out the broken piece. I would go with the first suggestion.

How do you check valve clearance on 2005 Honda CRF450R?

Remove the seat and the and shrouds. Petcock is turned off and fuel line is removed from the carburetor. Drain all fuel from the tank. Next the bolt that holds the petcock is removed. Fuel tank is now removed by loosening and removing the bolt at top and strap that hold it in place. You can now clean the valve cover and the upper part of the engine. Be sure that no dirt falls into the cylinder head after you remove the valve cover. The spark plug cap and crankcase breather tube are next removed. You are now ready to loosen and remove the three valve cover bolts, the crankcase hole cap is also removed as well as its O-ring. Next you should turn the crankshaft clockwise in order to to align punch mark on primary drive with index mark on the crankcase cover. You do the turning with the kick starter. It is easier to turn if you also remove the spark plug. Noe be sure that the piston is at Top Dead Center also called TDC on the compression stroke. You know if it is on the compression stroke when the cam lobes face the back part of the motorcycle and the punch mark and the timing marks are in aligment with each other. The intake valves clearance is measured by sliding a feeler gauge between the cam lobe and valve lifter. The clearance is 0.16+/-0.03mm or 0.006-/+0.001 in. when it is correct. Next you measure the exhaust valves clearance by inserting the feeler gauge between the rocker arm and the shim bucket. The valve clearance here should be 0.28mm-/+0.03 or 0.011-/+0.001 in. Adjust valve clearance to these values by shimming. The shim is the little disk sitting under the valve bucket. It acts as a spacer. As valves gradually get worn, the gap or valve clearance gets tighter and a new and thinner shim needs to be placed under the bucket in order to maintain the correct amount of clearance. The torque for the three valve cover bolts is 7lbf-ft. When you are sure you have adjusted the valves correctly assemble things again, the tank, fuel line and petcock are installed as well as the rdiator shrouds and seat.

How do you adjust suzuki GN125 valve clearance?

Q: What are the clearances of inlet and exhaust valves of Suzuki GN 125, and how to adjust the valve clearance. A: I'm giving an approximate answer since none is given here. I've just started doing this and don't know all the terminology. Please improve the answer if possible. :) You have to open the two caps hiding the valves on top. They are size 17. Also open the little bolt in front so you can look inside the motor for the "dead point" while rotating the motor manually. The adjustment is done with a flat screwdriver and the clearance should be between 0.08-0.13mmon both inlet and exaust. You have to use thos flat metal thingies to measure the clearance.

How do you change an EGR valve on a 4.0L 1995 Ford Explorer?

I submitted this question and found the answer. The bolt is an 1 1/16" for the manifold exhaust that connects to the EGR valve. You will have to take a cutting torch and heat the bolt only have someone do it who is good with on because the fuel lines are below the valve and dip stick next to it. After you do work the bolt of be careful not to snap of the pipe. Then remove the other 2 bolts 10mm and replace the gasket and valve. Also, put some high temperature white lithium grease on the bolts in case you have to take it off again. The bleeder valve is a 8mm bolt for the rears located on top of the drum or on the caliper itself if you have disk rear brakes. For the front, a 10mm bolt is located on the caliper itself. PB blaster should be used to be sure the bleeder valve is not broken
