Makkah today has a lot less people than it did a long time ago and they have more money than they used to have because they have less people and they also have more money to themselves.
Makkah used to be a very poor country, where every girl in each family would be buried until the parents had a son. People used to worship lots of statues until a man called 'Muhammad' came and told everyone "there is only one God and a God that wants girls to be buried is no God at all." Its a very hot place with dusty, sandy and dirty grounds.
