I have been on Powerpoint 2007 and it is quite confusing, although really cool and shiny and has lots of features. On the other hand, Powerpoint 2003 is really basic to use, although doesn't have much clipart and stuff. So basically it is your choice, check them out!

Replace Microsoft 2007 with Microsoft 2003?
You really shouldn't replace Microsoft 2007 with 2003 ESPECIALLY if you have to buy 2003 because I have worked on both for a very long time, and 2007 has A LOT of more features to do with pictures and add a lot more effects to pictures than 2003. It has more to do with adding objects, adding text boxes, and even some more text options. The 2007 version has pretty much everything the 2003 version has and more. Most people on the internet say you cannot take the white out of a picture, it is not true, and that causes the shift from 2007 to 2003. 2007 is able to do that, but it is sort of hidden. If you take the time to play around with it, you will see how 2007 has all the features of 2003 and then some. You shouldn't replace it, though contrary to popular belief, it is very good but takes some time to figure out all the bells and whistles.

2007 has the new ribbons toolbar, many more shapes and new smart art, better picture control, with many frames, much better designs which you can modify to create custom designs, a better way of working than other versions.
