Southeast Asia is made up of several countries and cultures. Different kinds of people, language, religions and traditions make it different from Europe, America and the nearer East. In Europe the predominance of Christianity was aided by the extent of the Roman Empire. Much of American culture derives from European roots. Islam spread for many reasons, but one of them was the conquest of other states.
