All plastic can be recycled, even styrofoam, but it may not be economical or available in your local area. All plastic can, by using enough energy, be restored to its original condition. However, much plastic is recycled into a lower grade of plastic ('downcycling') and used for garbage bins, garden furniture and other similar products.

So, to answer the question. Recycled plastic cannot be used for:

* making glass bottles * making aluminum cans * eating.
