Many causes of nerve pain or damage or due to some type of injury to the spinal column, like a slipped disc. Sometimes a pinched nerve can cause excruciating pain too.
The pain of appendicitis is felt at the umbilicus. Appendix lies in right iliac fossa. So this is referred pain.

Sounds like sciatica - the sciatic nerve gets trapped in the lower back, and sends pain shooting down the leg.
At first the signs can be an all over abdominal pain (most common), loss of appetite, and sometimes nausea and/or vomiting. But as it becomes more and more inflamed the pain becomes more localized to the bottom right of your abdomen, in front of your right hip bone, as this is where the appendix is located.
Nerve pain can be treated if it is diagnosed early with acupuncture, or hypnosis for example to help alleviate the pain, or changes by treating the conditions that are causing the pain and then there are medications which can be taken.
