it is under the plenium you have to take the fuel rails and the plenium out to access it.
The intake manifold is to the right of the valve covers. The throttle body attaches to it. If that is what you are talking about then that is the Plenium. the plenium attaches to the intake manifold right beneath it.
You need to remove the plenium intake manifod,I have a 1997,thats how i did it.

the easiest way is to pull the upper plenium, of course you want to replace the gaskets at this time as well.
