bad relayhow
1985 was a changeover year for the 944. Early cars (sometimes refered to as 1985.1, with three separate round guage pods in the dash) have the DME relay located on the relay board in the driver's footwell, under the dashboard. The DME relay is in position 2 of the relay board, second one from the left. Later series cars (1985.5) have the fuse and relay board under the hood, on the left hand side, just in front of the windshield. Open the box up and there should be a diagram on the inside of the lid.
You can find it under the dash board.
I have a 1994 Sentra, and the relay is inside the steering wheel assembly, soldered onto a circuit board.

The relay panel is located under the dash board, above the drivers feet, remove the lower cover panel to access relay box.
in fuse box,or underneath dash board on passenger side.
because of the flashers relay in dash board.
It is the circuit board which has all of the control circuitry and relays mounted for the device.
Relay is under either the hood of vehic or under the driver side clucth peddle or under the dash board on the passenger side
An overload relay is fundamentally a board that protects the relay from overloads. It works on the science of being an AC inductor..
best way to test a relay is remove it from board, get a 9v square battery and touch the switching terminals on the relay, the relay should click if its working. You can then test resistance through the relay. You can also check the feed to the relay, if theres pwer to the switching terminals on the relay, chances are the switch it ok. If no voltage, switch or wiring.
