AnswerAs far as I'm aware, Scotland doesn't have an 'official' language as such. English is the one most spoken, but Gaelic is still spoken widely in the north-west Highlands and the Hebrides, especially Isle of Lewis and Harris. There is also Broad Scots spoken on the east coast.

Scottish English is the official language. Gaelic is spoken in some places in the Highlands and in the Outer Hebrides.

The official language of Scotland is English. A small number of people, particularly in the Western Isles, speak Gaelic as a first language. First time visitors to Glasgow may well think that Glaswegians are speaking another language - such is the strength of the local vernacular!
