It should be understood that there are two main forms of tarot:

1) There is a tarot, tarock and tarocchi family of trick taking card games played mostly in European countries such as France, Italy, and Austira. This should not be confused with occult or divinatory tarot. This branch of tarot should be classified under "card games" and not under "new age" "occult" "mind, body, spirit" etc.

2) Then there's occult tarot or the divinatory art of tarot reading which is a branch of cartomancy. This is the branch of tarot which falls under the "new age" "mind, body, spirit" etc and this branch of tarot is in no way a "game" in most coventional understandings of the term.
