Exhaust Gas Recirculation. A small amount of exhaust gas is fed back into the cylinder to lower combustion temperatures and lower tail pipe emissions.
Not sure what a Dodge Adventure is, Trucks did not have EGR in 2000, minivans and cars did.
Check the EGR solenoid or some sort of EGR sensor. Most cars have these nowadays. could be bad wiring, sensor holder or pick up.
It was usually bolted to the intake manifold in those cars.
About $115. Labor $75 and valve $35. It takes about an hour. Most cars.
Depends on the car. Try it and find out I guess. On older vehicles, yes you can. On newer ones, no. Reason: Today's cars are completely computer controlled and if you take the EGR off the computer will know it and possibly even shut the engine down completely. On older cars, sure. Just pull and block the vacuum tube to the EGR and drive it. note: You will notice a small drop in gas mileage if you block the EGR. What can I say, they designed the engine to run with one.
EGR stands for exhaust gas recirculation. In order to make cars exhaust cleaner, part of the exhaust gas is recirculated to the intake and reburned in the combustion chamber resulting in a more complete combustion.
i have cars that need to be repaired alot that's why i need this info.
I know on my DTI estate its either a 8 or 9 mil socket (Mines a 02 model) turn socket left (there is two bolts look like stars) disconnect black tube from old EGR gently pull old EGR out of its place. (Then do the whole process in reverse. ) I must stress in treating this EGR with care .(Make sure you replace the EGR in the same position of the old one.)
DEI no longer fields their own cars. They have since merged with Chip Ganassi to form Earnhardt Ganassi Racing. EGR has two cars in the Sprint Cup Series, their drivers are Jamie McMurray (#1) and Juan Pablo Montoya (#42).
Alternators, HVAC blower motors, power windows, EGR valves (if not vacuum operated) and well I'll think of more
It does not have EGR.It does not have EGR.
The EGR sensor is part of the EGR valve on the rear pass side of the engine. The EGR sensor is part of the EGR valve on the rear pass side of the engine.
