The only information that I can give you is I bought one new in 1963 and paid $60.00 for it. I have shot thousands and thousands of rounds through it and it has performed flawlesley.
Ithaca X-15's were mfg from 1964-1967. They were the predcessor of the X-5 mfg from 1958-1964.
Unfortunately the ATF has all the records (i.e. serial numbers) for several of the older Ithaca models and specific year ID is next to impossible or to determine how many were mfg.
In VG to EX condition they are currently worth $180 - $250 if you have the original factory clip. It will have "Ithaca" stamped on the bottom.

If it was made before 1968 it does not have one. why would`nt it ? I`ve owned several .22 caliber rifle made before 1968 and all of them had serial numbers !
